Edible Printer for Macarons and Small Confectionery — Branding, Large Batches and New Orders

Print logos and photographs directly on assembled macarons. Up to 640 macarons/hour, minimal edible ink costs and new corporate orders with ArTer printers.

ArTer edible printers can print images directly onto macarons, cookies, gingerbread, lollipops, marshmallows, meringues, wafers, cupcakes, éclairs, cakes, mousse desserts and many other confectionery products with suitable surfaces.

Macarons are particularly well suited to direct edible printing — from a small birthday gift to thousands of branded desserts for a corporate event.

Large orders can help recover the printer investment quickly, while urgent personalisation, corporate gifts, seasonal collections, new products and creative freedom provide additional opportunities to increase earnings.

How many macarons can you print per hour?

ParameterØ4 cmØ5 cm
ArTer C15N productivity≈640 pcs/hour≈420 pcs/hour
Edible ink per item≈€0.00094≈€0.00147
Ink for 100 items≈€0.094≈€0.147
Printing 2,000 items≈3.1 hours≈4.8 hours

These calculations assume full coverage of one macaron shell at the highest print quality. In practice, only part of the surface is often printed, so ink use can be lower and printing faster.

Even with these conservative settings, the figures show how inexpensive edible printing is and how quickly a substantial order can be decorated.

How quickly can a macaron printer pay for itself?

Published confectionery prices offer a straightforward way to estimate the value of personalisation.

In Poland, for example, adding an image to a macaron can increase its price by 1–2 PLN per item, from approximately 6 PLN to 7–8 PLN. Not every macaron in a gift box needs to be printed to make the entire collection feel personalised.

In France, Germany and the United States, examples of personalised macarons show a price increase of approximately €0.50–0.70 per item.

At these price differences, roughly 6,000–12,000 personalised macarons in Poland, or 3,500–5,000 in France and Germany, could generate additional revenue comparable to the purchase price of an ArTer C15N.

With printing productivity of up to 420–640 macarons per hour, this volume represents only a few printing shifts.

These figures refer to additional sales revenue from personalisation, not guaranteed net profit. Image preparation, handling, labour and other costs must also be considered.

And direct printing revenue is only part of the opportunity.

Additional ways to grow your business

Corporate gifts. Logo macarons for conferences, hotels, restaurants, retail chains and advertising agencies.

Weddings and celebrations. Guest names, photographs, greetings and invitations printed on small desserts with high perceived value.

Urgent personalisation. Suitable macarons prepared in advance can be decorated once an order is received.

New products and creative ideas. Lollipops, marshmallows, meringues and seasonal collections let confectioners select niches based on demand, competition and their production capabilities.

How easy is edible printing?

Which ArTer printer should you choose?

ArTer C10 — €1,620 excluding VAT. An affordable entry model with manual height adjustment.

ArTer C15N — €2,180 excluding VAT. Our recommended printer for regular production of assembled macarons: automatic laser-based height adjustment, continuous ink supply and a 20 × 30 cm printing area.

ArTer E15A3 — €3,310 excluding VAT. A 30 × 45 cm printing area, primarily useful when the business also needs to decorate larger confectionery products.

For printing large numbers of lightweight assembled macarons, C15N is generally the more convenient option. Additional printers can be introduced as demand grows.
